Triumph TR6 1970 UK CP 150bhp
This car came to us as a project in need of completion. Off the road since at least 2006 It had clearly been subject to a body off restoration. The chassis is in excellent condition, we can’t find any evidence of welding repairs. The underside of the car has been painted body colour and clear waxoyled as have the wheel wells. The panels are straight and panel gaps are excellent, again with no evidence of repairs and it certainly appears that all 4 wings were replaced as part of the body restoration. In our ownership we have removed the engine and stripped the engine bay back to bare metal before repainting in its original colour of signal red. We have completely stripped the front suspension and roll bar assembly and had all major components powder coated before reassembly with new suspension bushes, track rod ends, fittings and rubbers. New brake discs, callipers, pads and pipes have been fitted. The rear suspension has received new bushes, rubbers etc where required. We have fitted a new O/S drive shaft and replaced any suspect UJs . The diff has been fitted with new seals. On the fuel side we have replaced the Lucas fuel pump with a new Bosch style unit from TRGB and fitted refurbished injectors. The car has just been serviced and tuned, fitted with a K&N spin off oil filter and sporting the optional oil cooler. New stainless steel exhaust system. The paint and body are in excellent condition we have just replaced the windscreen seal and the windscreen frame seal and fitted new window seals and door mirrors. Both rear bumper quarters have been replaced with new units. Fitted with a brand-new hood, carpet set, wood rimmed steering wheel and door cards, this a smart looking car. Currently fitted with powder coated wires and new tyres but comes with the option of standard TR6 wheels should these are preferred. Many other parts, sensors, pumps, switches etc have been replaced too many to mention here.
We have spent in excess of £3000 in parts (receipts provided) and more than 300 hours to get the car to this stage. The previuos owner has provided receipts for an additional spend of £2700 since 2020
1971 MGB Roadster finished in tartan red. MOT history back to 1986, Extensive service history which would suggest that the 72000 miles showing on the clock is accurate. A solid presentable car.
Subject to an older professional restoration which included new wings, door skins etc. Good panel gaps. Good paint with a deep shine. Clean interior, wood dash. Working overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear. K&N air filters. Roll bar fitted which is bolted in, this can be removed and sold on if not required. Drives nicely with no known issues. New brake pads, new headlight trims and door seals, new heater valve, new battery, new clutch slave, new accelerator cable. Minilight alloys that have just been refurbished and have a matching set of excellent tyres. Just been serviced and is ready to enjoy.
This a genuine UK Triumph TR3A. The BMIHT heritage certificate shows that the car was dispatched to ‘Glovers of Rippon’ Harrogate in February 1961 and that it retains its original engine.
In our ownership we have replaced the steering pins, bushes, wishbone seals and any other questionable suspension bushes and seals. We have serviced and tuned the car, replaced leads, cap, plugs, points condenser etc. Replaced the choke cable and set up and balanced the SU carbs. Replaced the clutch slave and fitted new seals to the clutch master. Completed electrical wiring tidy up and testing.
The previous owner of 10 years had clearly cherished the car as it has been serviced and maintained with no expense spared. In this 10-year period we have receipts showing an approximate £20k spend, many from well known and respected Classic Car workshops. The major work includes the following.
New clutch starter ring and starter £1360
Engine removal complete strip and rebuild with new cam chain and sprockets, cam followers, lower pully assembly etc. Re-cored radiator with additional core (photos of rebuild provided) 10k miles ago £3676

Recondition gearbox and overdrive unit £3391
